Did You Know You Can Restore Files from the Trash to Their Original Location?

Most Mac users know they can click the Trash icon on the Dock to open a Finder window showing files that are slated for deletion, but still available in the trash. And, they know they can restore one of these files by they dragging it from the Trash window to the Desktop or another folder. But, what if you want to restore a file to where it was before you trashed it? The Finder has your back with its Put Back command. Select the file in the Trash window, and choose File > Put Back (or press Command-Delete). The Finder moves the file to its former location—no matter how deeply nested—and opens a window showing that location, as you can see in the right-hand image below.
