iPad 2 Accessories We Love
by Meredith Carlile
1. The Smart Cover
Can I just say—this thing is just so awesome! Instead of buying a stand, all I have to do is fold it up and place my iPad any way I want for optimal typing or viewing. Totally cool, and for $39, it’s not that badly priced considering the cost of a fancy stand. The Smart Cover also has a soft fabric on the inside that doesn’t hurt the screen. Pretty darn fantastic.
2. A hard case for the back
Unfortunately, the smart cover is only awesome at protecting the screen. The silver back is just so pretty, but it can get scratched easily.
This week we are running a sale on Incipio feather cases that go with the smart covers. These babies are fairly thin but provide great protection. Plus, if you like to match everything, or even mix and match, you have plenty of color options to choose from!
Personally, I like the clear Speck case the best, which goes with a smart cover. It has great coverage around the lip of the iPad, so there really is no possible way for your iPad to get dinged up. The plastic is thick, so you know your iPad will be protected, but not so thick that it adds a ton of extra bulk.
My favorite part—the magnet. If I don’t even want to deal with my Smart Cover, I can wrap it around the back of the case, and the magnet will hold the cover in place. Seriously, it’s the best. Here are some pictures since there aren’t any available online.
3. A good sleeve
Between the Smart Cover and a case for the back, your iPad has a lot of protection. I like to slip it in a sleeve, though, just to keep everything all in one place, especially since I carry my iPad in my purse. (I usually cram a USB cord or a little screen cleaner thing in the sleeve, too.)
All sleeves are created equal in my opinion. I’ve used an Incase sleeve, and it fits the iPad perfectly, isn’t too bulky, and doesn’t take up too much space. Right now I use a sleeve that is made for a netbook. Thankfully I didn’t spend too much money on it because there’s too much extra space. So, learn from my mistake and purchase a sleeve made specifically for the iPad.
If all that was just too much stuff for one device (what can I say? I like accessories) here are some other really cool options, all of which are available in our eStore.
