We are very pleased to announce that for the third consecutive year, Simply Mac will be conducting an eWaste event to help the community properly dispose of their eWaste.
Our first e-Waste Recycle Event was April 29 and 30, 2011. We were so excited to bring FREE e-Waste recycling to both Salt Lake and Utah counties, where we collected 500,000 pounds of e-Waste! You may not know it, but eWaste is the fastest-growing segment of America’s trash volume. eWaste accounted for 5% of our landfill volume in 2011, and it’s only getting worse the more technology advances.
The second annual Simply Mac eWaste Recycle Event took place on April 13 and 14 at the Maverik Center and was a great success! Utah’s businesses and consumers recycled more than 250,000 pounds in electronic waste! To recycle that amount after an estimated 500,000 pounds only one year earlier is a HUGE feat!
The third annual event, will be held once again at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City on May 17th and 18th. The 17th will be the institution/business day, so those businesses out there with old computers and printers, bring them by! The 18th is our open public day, so if you have old computers, printers, TVs, scanners, monitors, or really about anything electric, bring it by and we’ll help you recycle it responsibly.
